The Red Maids’ School just off the Downs in North Bristol has long been known for its academic excellence and attracts families from Bristol and surrounding areas.

Girls aged 7-18 thrive academically, while developing the skills they need to succeed in the 21st century.

The historic Senior School, set in a leafy 12 acres, has all the essentials on site and consistently achieves 100% exam pass rates year on year.

The Junior School just next door begins at Year 3 and benefits from its own self-contained premises while also using some upper school facilities, helping to familiarise pupils in readiness for the transition to Senior School at the age of 11.

Red Maids’ has added the more stretching International GCSEs - or IGCSEs - in English, Maths and Science to its GCSE curriculum and is unique amongst independent Bristol schools for offering sixth formers the choice of studying either A-Levels or the International Baccalaureate Diploma.

In 2012, Red Maids’ students enjoyed a record breaking year of exam success, achieving the highest number of A*s at GCSE, a 100% pass rate at A Level for the eighth year in succession, a record number of A grades at AS Level and ranking in the top ten nationally for their IB Diploma results

Broadening horizons through extra-curricular activities is a high priority at Red Maids’, in order to stretch the girls’ talents and interests.

As well as providing a first-class education for girls, the school delivers excellent value for money with many costs such as examinations and curricular trips included in the fees.

The staff support the girls every step of the way, providing advice on further education and career choices, and take pride in seeing most go on to accept places at their first choice university.

In keeping with its founding origins, Red Maids’ continues to offer a number of financially assisted places through scholarships and bursaries.

Parents and children are welcome to book individual visits to the Junior and Senior Schools at their convenience, plus there are a number of planned events, many of which need no appointment.
