Since its formation in 1952, the HorseWorld charity has been dedicated to saving the lives of abandoned, neglected and mistreated horses, ponies and donkeys.

HorseWorld is now responsible for over 140 horses, ponies and donkeys at our Bristol site and over 300 who have been re-homed throughout the South-West.

We work closely with partner organisations and fellow equine welfare charities to rescue animals in need, putting together a tailored programme of rehabilitation before seeking, wherever possible, to re-home every horse with experienced and loving loaners.

The charity also runs the ground-breaking Discovery educational programme.

HorseWorld’s vital 365-days-a-year animal welfare work is funded by voluntary donations. If you would like to help us transform the lives of horses, ponies and donkeys, you can do by supporting us.

HorseWorld is not open to the public on a day-to-day basis but we do hold Open Days throughout the year. Please see the special events page for details.

Adopt a horse with HorseWorld!

HorseWorld’s Animal Adoption scheme is a simple but fun way of contributing to the work of the charity, and you could have a best friend for life!

An adoption costs just £15 per year, which goes towards the continuing care of all the horses, ponies, donkeys and other animals at HorseWorld. A worthwhile gift all round.

We have over 100 horses on site. There is not room for them all on the website. We advertise all the rideable animals and horses in training that we have on these pages but we have many more non-working companion animals. If you cannot see what you are looking for, please contact the Welfare department.
